- Description
- This work presents an application of a Boundary Element Method (BEM) formulation for the analysis of brick masonry wall. The formulation is developed for linear elastic analysis, using an isotropic fundamental solution. However, for brick masonry it is necessary to take the anisotropy into account and this is done by expressing a residual elastic tensor as the difference between the anisotropic and isotropic elastic property tensors. Also considered the internal variables and cell discretization of the domain. In this work the integral formulation and algebraic procedure are presented as well as how to obtain the anisotropic elastic tensor. Some examples are shown to verify the formulation.
