- Description
- Decision-makers use experience for their decisions, that is, when a decision event emerges, managers select actions that previously have worked well in similar situations. They extract the most significant characteristics from the current circumstances, and relate them to similar situations and actions that have worked well in the past. Thus, it is very important to keep a record of earlier decisions events. A formal decision event is a decision occurrence that was performed under specific circumstances, that is, under strict established conditions and is carried out by knowledge-based agent. Set of Experience Knowledge Structure (SOEKS or shortly SOE) is a combination of filtered information obtained from formal decision events and serves as “representation of the world”. Usually we have multiple dissimilar Sets of Experience as output of the same formal decision event. The purpose of this chapter is to show the process of generating one holistic SOE that can be added to the decisional knowledge base. The chapter, due to the limited space, includes theoretical foundations only.
