- Description
- A recent scholarship comparing Canada to Australia has been particularly productive in identifying factors benefiting women workers. The history of the economic, legal and political status of women in Canada has relevance beyond the boundaries of that nation. These articles reveal change from the nineteenth to the twenty-first has yet to secure equality, not only between men and women but, as importamtly, among women. Factors common to both countries include sex-segregation of occupations, lower rates of pay for "female" work and the marginalisation of women workers.
