- Description
- A values-based classroom enables students to exercise ethical judgement and social responsibility - the expectations embodied in human rights legislation. The nine values for Australian schooling identified in the National Framework for Values Education in Australian Schools - Care and Compassion; Doing your Best; Fair Go; Freedom; Honesty and Trustworthiness; Integrity; Respect; Responsibility; and Understanding, Tolerance and Inclusion underpin the human rights that are the foundation of an 'open and just' society. When the values of human rights are embedded in content and pedagogy, classrooms become more productive learning environments.
