- Description
- Intermittently open and closed lakes and lagoons (ICOLLs) are increasingly exposed to anthropogenic disturbances due to surrounding development. During high rainfall events these risks increase due to elevated stormwater discharge, which may coincide with the use of artificial entrance openings to prevent flooding of adjacent properties. The ecological impacts of these disturbances have been widely documented; however, responses to stormwater under changing entrance conditions remains poorly understood. This study aimed to address this knowledge gap by examining the relationship between environmental and biological responses to stormwater under changing entrance conditions.
