- Description
- Scott and colleagues are to be commended on a very readable review of the pitfalls in diagnostic test research. Their catalogue of possible biases, however, misses the problem of post-hoc determination of cut points, a very common bias that has only recently been described. Scott mentions that the requirement to select the optimal cut point or test threshold, however, does not comment on the problem of cut points being set before or after examination of the data.
