- Description
- Understanding and measuring strain is of crucial importance for engineers and scientists, and tomographic reconstruction of residual strain holds the potential to revolutionise the way in which solids mechanics research is carried out. Bragg-edge neutron transmission measurements have been at the centre of tomographic reconstruction efforts for the past decade, but to date no reconstruction algorithm for residual strain in the general case has been developed. In this paper, we review recent developments in this field and outline a path toward general tomographic reconstruction.
