- Description
- Regardless of one's opinion of the Editor-in-Chief or the journal itself, occupational health editorials offer an interesting insight into the professional direction of the editorial board and the periodical it serves. Nevertheless, when judging a particular journal, it is important not to forget the fundamental goal of our profession, that is, to strive continuously for healthier and safer workplaces around the world. While profound changes have no doubt occurred throughout most occupations in recent years, many traditional hazards still continue to exist, particularly in developing countries. For these reasons and more, it is critical that we, as occupational health professionals in Australia as elsewhere, continue to examine, analyse and publish our findings on how to achieve a safer world of work for all. Editorials, original research and review articles offer a key vehicle for this ongoing dissemination of knowledge.
