- Description
- This paper demonstrates the cross-platform simulation of ANSYS Maxwell and PLECS using the co-simulation functionality offered by MATLAB Simulink and ANSYS Simplorer. A multiphase permanent magnet synchronous machine is designed and modelled using Maxwell finite-element method and controlled by a motor drive designed and implemented in PLECS. The cosimulation method allows the same motor drive control to be used cross-platform, reducing development time. Furthermore, the co-simulation method also allows saturation effects, thermal and mechanical analysis to be performed in conjunction with the control scheme implemented. Lastly, the paper compares the results obtained from the co-simulation method with traditional modelling methods.
