- Description
- Many problems confronting societies today are "wicked" in that they are complex and characterized by conflicts of interests and objectives (Head & Alford, 2015). Conflict needs to be effectively addressed to ensure it does not escalate and to enable the development and delivery of solutions that meet the interests of disparate societal groups. Conflict resolution, like other forms of communication, is increasingly being undertaken virtually. Using simulations from an on-line post-graduate conflict resolution course taught during the Covid-19 pandemic, this chapter explores how the on-line environment impacts on the formation of trust in situations of conflict. The chapter presents implications for the development trust on the achievement of good substantive and relational outcomes.
