- The liquid bridge exists in bulk materials, such as ore, sand, soil, etc when the materials contain a certain amount of water. These liquid bridges have an effect on the interstitial particle forces, which is affects the macroscopic bulk material flow properties Therefore, a better understanding of the liquid bridge in the bulk materials is helpful to improve bulk material handling technologies. In particular, the retention capacity of liquid bridge between two particles and how it fails during the materials handling process. Modelling of two sphere particles are simulated in this work. The spheres are simplified in two dimensional (2D) and three sizes of spheres are chosen. Subsequently, vibrations with three different frequencies are added to the liquid bridges and particles to find out how the liquid bridges fail and how much residual water remains. Finally, the effect of particle size and vibration frequency on the liquid bridge is analysed.
