- Description
- We are now faced with the fact that tomorrow is today. We are confronted with the fierce urgency of now. In this unfolding conundrum of life an history there is such a thing as being too late. Procrastination is still the thief of time (King, 1967). Despite billions of dollars of investment in education sectors around the world, implementation of massive new testing regimes bolstered by international think tanks and locally driven government and private sector mandates, the so-called achievement gaps between the poorest and the wealthiest children in our schools have not closed. In the United States, for example, one sixth of all children remain trapped in a cycle of low expectations and low results in basic literacy and numeracy and beyond (Rabinovitz, 2016).
