- This is the protocol for a review and there is no abstract. The objectives are as follows: Primary objective - To determine the effectiveness of interventions implemented through sporting organisations to promote physical activity, healthy diet, reductions in alcohol consumption or tobacco use. The primary objective focuses on four health behaviours among the most relevant for morbidity and mortality worldwide (WHO 2009). ; Secondary objectives - To determine the effectiveness of interventions in the setting of sporting organisations, or using a sporting organisation as a means of access to promote other healthy behaviours, health knowledge, or health outcomes. ; To determine whether effects are different based on the characteristics of the interventions including target population, geographical location, type of sports, type, duration, context and implementation of intervention, and timing of outcome measurement. ; To assess adverse events or unintended effects related to included interventions.
