- Context: It is estimated that over 220 million people worldwide have diabetes.1 Aerobic and resistance-based physical activity (PA) are key components for management of type 2 diabetes (T2D),2 ,3 yet most individuals with this disease remain insufficiently active to achieve health benefits. Theoretically based, behavioural change strategies for the promotion of PA in this population have become an important clinical and public health focus in tackling the diabetes epidemic.
