- Description
- This book presents the results of an eight-year practice-based research (PBR) capacity building project aiming to support allied health practitioners in their efforts to take up current health challenges of evidence-based practice (EBP) and the demonstration of healthcare needs, practices and outcomes. The book demonstrates many of the achievements of this unique capacity building project undertaken by multiple allied health practitioners working in single disciplinary and multidisciplinary teams in an Australian allied health setting. The choice of a clinical data-mining (CDM) approach was inspired by the series of International Social Work in Health and Mental Health conferences presenting CDM research projects by practitioners and academics from the US, Israel and Australia. The combination of a rigorous research methodology, practice-based evidence, a realistic practice focus and achievable practitioner-research processes encouraged Hunter New England Allied Health leaders to adopt a similar approach.
