- Description
- Asthma self-management education is an effective and integral part of asthma management in both adults and children. It can be successfully delivered in a variety of settings. The key components of asthma self-management education involve the transfer of information to improve knowledge, skills training, self-monitoring, the prescription of WAAPs, and regular medical review. These components of asthma education are best delivered in a model of person-centered care where the needs of the individual patient are understood and effective clinician–patient partnerships are developed.
