Description: We were pleased to receive the insightful and thoughtprovoking commentary from Watson on our paper (Levett-Jones & Lathlean 2009). We will respond to some of the issues raised, but first we would like to acknowledge Watson for challenging us to extend the study that underpinned the paper by testing the hierarchy through the use of Mokken scaling. We are currently undertaking this project.
